![]() The problem choice seems to me to have been done masterrfully (but do note that most of the problems would be rated at least 1600 Standard here on CT, and many much, much higher). CT-Art, clearly a labor of love over many years for Blokh, reflects the judgments of a teacher and connoisseur about which problems are most instructive. The essential differences between CT-Art and CT stem from the origin of the problems. Most of the problems are taken from actual games and credit the participants maybe 10% are composed by Blokh, usually quite artfully. ![]() It is essentially an expanded software version of the famous tactics book "The Art of Combination" by Russian trainer and correspondence grandmaster Maxim Blokh, with some very nice features like the ability to play out variations against an engine, and hints for every problem in the form of simplified auxiliary problems. CT-Art is tactics training software sold by ChessOK (makers of Chess Assistant, which is similar to ChessBase).
